Piston heads don't match in size....
Piston heads don't match in size.... In rebuilding my engine and using my stock pistons, my engine builder told me that the sizes varied from one to another. He noticed the distraught look on my face and went on to tell me that it won't cause any issues as long as when/if the engine gets pulled apart again the pistons all have specific position/hole.
This hasn't set well with me and I wanted to get other's opinions on this.
.....he did say that the differences aren't much, but obviously enough to make a difference (didn't get gram differences).

The differences in piston diameter should be measurable in ten-thousanths of an inch. If he's talking about anything larger than this, its worth investigating. I might have mic'ed up on top of a burr or a piece of dirt or something to throw the measurements off a few thousandths.
