Re: Ordered a Comp Cam...have questions about ICL
Oh, sorry about that Jason. So I don't need to advance my cam then? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> Doesn't the Thunder 227/224 have some advance ground into it?

Even if it peaks slightly lower than you like it will 60' and et better with the torque coming on lower.
I have a Rollmaster double roller chain in my engine. Works great. I have a Comp 218/218 with a ICL of 114 and 6 degrees of advance. My peak hp is 6000 however no significant fall even at 6600 rpm.
You really need a dyno to know for sure where you are.
ASP pulleys has nothing to do with what timing chain you buy.

Re: Ordered a Comp Cam...have questions about ICL
So where will my peak power be if I advance the cam
4 degrees????
6 degrees????
Thanks for all the help guys. Again, I do not wish to spin my motor past 6,500 rpms - But it would be nice to have the extra power there if it is needed.

Re: Ordered a Comp Cam...have questions about ICL
I honestly would install the cam in the motor with no advance. However, if you adv. the cam 4 degrees, this should lower peak power by ~100-200 rpms.
