Please offer buildup suggestions...
It looks like it's going to tip the scales at 2500lbs complete with iron smallblock.
He'd like to build an ALUMINUM! Gen 3 for it. He'd like 700hp and would like to spend @ $12,000. Those are the goals. We'll probably assemble it ourselves, but buying a shortblock isn't out of the question.
I haven't priced up everything yet, but off the top of my head I was thinking an LS1 block (LS2 maybe?) with the longest stroke Lunati kit built to 8.5:1 compression and a centrifugal super charger with intercooler.
Perhaps AFR heads. Nothing super trick, I think the displacement and boost will get us what we want with driveability and a conservative 7K redline.
We'd probably go with an aftermarket ECU like FAST or ACCEL.
What would you guys suggest?
Thanks..

So the Darton sleeved block will get me 4.125" bore and the 4.125" stroke crank from Lunati will get me how many cubes? 440?
That's pretty cool and that entire shortblock assembly could be put together for somewhere in the neighborhood of $5500?
