Default got a bearing question

Hi,
I was wondering while I have my motor out, can I take and remove all the rod bolts, and main bolts and replace with ARP stuff, without replacing the bearings? I dont know since I will be releasing pressure if this is a good idea or not??

any help as always is greatly appericated
thanks
ed

I've heard of people replacing the rod bolts while the engine was still in the car, so I assume you can. Be sure and torque the bolts a couple of time to allow them to "stretch". Some people get mad when they find out later they were supposed to be torqued a few times.

3 times is the procedure for ARP bolts. you can do it for the rod bolts(even tho getting the stock ls1 style cracked rods resized is suggested) but i'm not sure about the mains, w/o messing with the bearings. might have to pull the motor for that part.

I believe that ARP recommends an align hone for main cap studding.
