Default Which rods and pistons?

Here is the setup i finally decide to go with. I just need to know what type of pistons and rods i should go with. 2000 LS1 block 3.905 bore. What type of pistons and rods would you all recomend. I'm getting my crank polished. I'm running a G5X3 cam and want to run as much comp. as possible while still having a safe PTV clearance. I'm getting my 2000 heads ported and polished. How much should i get them milled and what type of piston should I run to achieve about 11.5 to 12 comp ratio. I'm also going to be spraying 200 shot of nitrous. TIA

im running custom diamond pistons w/ 6.6 domes, eagle 6.125 H-Beams, 5.7's millled .020, and cometic .045 gasket and my SCR comes out to 12.02

you'll need domes or a shitload of milling to get 12.0 CR. better off to start w/ a 5.3 casting as you'll start with a smaller chamber and wont have to mill as much.

Doesn't a 12.0CR require race fuel?

not if you setup your combo correct and have it tuned competantly.

my SCR is 12.02 and my DCR is 8.5

I hate to hijack this guys post but what is SCR and DCR? I've never heard of either of these and how do the pertain to having to run race gas vs. 93?

Yep You would definatley be better off staring off with a 5.3 head.

You could then run a Flat top piston with a .041" gasket and not have to mill much to be in the 12:1 range.

You probably wont have to worry abot P to V clearance if you are getting aftermarket pistons as they will have valve reliefs. Good Idea to throw some weak springs on and check it tho.
