i hear alot of people talk **** about the TRex! Before anyone makes assumptions, drive one. It absolutely one of the best rides your going to have(with a good tune of coarse). Don't listen to most of these people, put the TRex in! If you have unmodified heads then that cam will fit fine (piston to valve clearance). My recommendations is to get the Patriot gold dual springs. i know that the comp 921s are great but, if your going to change them every season, spend 300 instead of 500. You need gears!!! otherwise it will take for ever to get into the powerband. I have never driven a G5X3, so i dont have any input on that besides the TRex comes with a 110 LSA.

Don't rush into gettin that big of a cam unless you can afford all the extra's that are needed (gears, 12 bolt, dual valve springs). Look into the FM13 or TSP 231/237. I reccomend the 231/237 with atleast 4:10's, youll be moving trust me

I was just kind of throwing out numbers, most people I see with this cam have a built motor and heads to go along with it. And they get above 500.

no body is talking ****. I love my cam, I street it every day but putting this cam on a stock car is a bad idea. He wont get 500 hp, he wont even get 400. If it was me (and I did) I would work on full boltons first but if he wants to do it the hard way then...

Bigger is not always better with cams. There is a trade-off in everything with cams. A little more of this will cost you a little of that, and so on. Personally, I think that's waaaay too much cam for stock cubes, a close to stock rev limiter setting and stock gears. There are so many other choices out there...especially for a DD car that I think you'd be better suited with something smaller. It sounds good to say you're running this huge stick but if you can't use it, why bother? I'd look for something else. Lots of people using different sticks who can point you in the right direction.
