when i cut the first piston do i have to remove the flycutting tool and head, then clean up the shavings. then reinstall the flycutting tool and then cut the next piston. or do i leave the head on and cut all of the pistons on one side at once? also, any1 have an old head gasket i can have?? thanks pat

You have to be very carefull not to leave any of the shavings in the motor.I pack the cutter with grease and line the bore with grease too so you can just drop the piston and wipe the cylinder clean.Also make sure you cut slowly until you get the feel for it and my preference is ussing a valve shim to check cutting depth.

 

Yes you do have to remove the head each time, but you actually only use 2 bolts so it's no big deal. It's a bit slow, but this is an area that you don't want to rush.

I do have an old head gasket if you need one. PM me. It' yours for just shipping cost.

FWIW- If you set the cutting height without a gasket a used gasket isn't needed. Just clean the cylinder real good. The shavings are quite large and an easy clean up IMHO.
