Default Engine ticking at 2000-3000 RPM

I just got my SS (M6) and it clacks a bit between 2000-3000 only while cold. It does not clatter at idle at all. It take a full 15 minutes to go away (its 25-30F) here in the morning now. Once fully warm its gone. Stop it for 5 minutes comes back a little. In neutral it doesn't do it that I can tell, only under load and it seems a bit better under bigger load but maybe I just can't hear it over the exhaust.

It seems to coincide with the natural throb of the exhaust system (stock). Are there standard things I should be looking for underneath that might be doing it. It really sounds like the engine but I might be getting fooled. Its a convertible so things are kind of boomy anyway.

Just curious, I am really trying to ignore it but I want to make sure its okay.

It's piston slap, all LSX engines do it. Forget about and drive the car. This has been posted so many times in the past it isn't funny.

Thanks for the reply. Everyone does seem tired of this topic. I just wasn't sure if that's what it was because I have no noises at all when starting or idling, just at that RPM.

I'll live with it, I just wanted some verification.
