Default Lifter Recomendation

I've been racing the car pretty hard all summer, and now I'm pretty sure I have a bad lifter (haven't got it torn down yet, but the noise is coming from above the intake manifold.) I've bounced off the rev limit at 6750 rpm quite a few times.

I've been running a TR224 with Comp 918 springs, Ti retainers yella terra rockers, and hardened push rods. All of the springs and push rods appear to be in good condition. Spring presure is 139/273 lbs. All rocker bolts still tight. I have 10,000 miles on this setup.

What do you guys sugest I replace the lifters with? Stock, Comp stock replacement, Comp R's, or something else? I don't want to be doing this again.

Go with the Comp stock or Comp R lifters. Comp R's are better but if your doing the instal yourself I heard they are a pain in the arss unless you are using adjustable rockers. I could be wrong but maybe some more people will chime in. The Comp R's are better though.

Yeah that's why I'm leaning towards the Comp stock, I have the Yella Terra's which are not adjustable. I just wonder if the Comp stock lifters are OK for my rev limit at 6750 rpm? So I assume the Comp stock lifters have a wider preload range like the stock lifters do?

Yes, the Comp lifters are less picky about pre-load. The best lifter you can get for LS-1's right now is the Morel lifters. They are not to picky on pre-load and have survived 10 million cycles at 8700 rpm's. That's alot of rpm for a long time with no problems. They cost 2 times as much as the comps, but failure should never be a problem.

Who sells the Morel lifters? Right now I would be willing to pay for some premium parts.
