There are other builders out there.....

Speed Inc built me a killer 427, no issues with them at all.....I changed things about 13 times, what a pain in the *** I am......

I would recommend Speed Inc.....

I can truthfully say that, in my opinion, one would have to be a total idiot to buy anything from ARE after all of the bad business that has been published on this board.

Seriously, why even take the chance? Any one of the stories would be enough to keep me away, let alone all of them. I know of several other people who haven't spoken in this thread with very bad stories about them as well. Basically the way I see it is that the only people they treat halfway decently are the ones who are close enough to physically check in on them and/or kick their *** when something goes awry.

Why in God's name would anyone even consider ARE with all this nonsense going on?
I live within an hour of them, and wouldn't dare get any closer.

I for one work hard for my money, and I want a fair amount of certainty that I'm going to get it done right the first time. I for one will be patronizing a U.S. tuner when I'm getting my stroker done in a few months.....

i have an are motor in my car. i have had no issues with it at all and it has been a strong running motor. it seemed all the bad press was when WADE AND BERRY had the place.i've heard massive bad storied on those two. i'm not too sure about nick agostino, but i've heard nothing bad on him myself and it seems all the quality was when he had it.nick has the shop back now,so i heard,it may become a good place again.(only time will tell) all i can say is the motor in my car has been running great for the past three years. i first gave AMS racing $4,000 to build me a motor after 2 or 3 months i all of a sudden had $4,000 back in my account,i didn't know how i had that much back. well...it seemed AMS couldn't build the motor and they put the money back and never told me. ARE built me a motor, they said three weeks but it took four weeks, who cares. ARE came through for me and i hope they see all the good AND BAD PRESS so they become a good quality shop again with the right people working for them. goodluck on your motor.

My "ARE Stage 2+ LS6 heads" and related parts they sold me can be shown to have caused $7800 worth of costs and $4700 worth of "loss of use" if you count that. Taking out an engine, seizing valves multiple times, cracking between the spring seat and the intake port, making truly shitty power (405 rwhp with an aggressive cam, after I made 399 rwhp with stock heads and a Hotcam.), and for some SICK reason, Istill have these POS castings on my 487, which even after having the heads further hogged out, only makes 440 rwhp with a big cam and 387 ci. The heads are so milled that I had to alter the LS6 intake to fit between the heads. I'm not a guy who has much money to put towards the car. Now with a kid, I'll never have the disposible income I had in 99-01. Will I ever get the power I have paid a total of $25,000 looking for? FIIK.

Nick and his folks need to find a new way to make a living. There have been huge issues with MMS, ARE, JPR, etc, etc... I don't know who is safe anymore. I do know that my SS has only gotten 2k miles on it in the last 4-5 years. It's been broken a vast majority of the time.
