Default cometic head gaskets

hey guys i just got a pair of cometic head gaskets, and they seem a littel weird, the outside layer is just a regular layer of steel no rubber ring around the cc or around the outside edge, is this normal??? excuse my noobnees but iam used to mls head gaskets having a rubber coating or some kind of softer coating aroung the edges for better seal.

I'm putting Cometics on my new H/C setup. I don't know about how they should look, but your exhaust gaskets are the same way (i.e. obviously no rubber or any other material).

Loving mine, so far no problems, other than the smell of burning tires
