California Cam Question
I currently have a mostly stock '99 ls1 motor. The only thing that has been changed are the rockers. They are Harland Sharp 1.8's. They NEEDED to be changed (Spilt bearings on the stockers). I DO NOT intend to change the rockers again. What cam can I run in "The Peoples Republic of California" and still pass SMOG ? I will also be changing the springs, as I understand this is a must. Probably 918's or what ever is recommended for my application. I would also like a guestimate for total cost. I will have Don Lee Auto do the work since they did my rockers. Don Lee Auto Any recommendations will be appreciated. I have used the search and found some information. Just looking for clarification.

I had considered going FI, either STS or blower. But, right now money is a factor. At least $3500 for the STS, $4500 blower, Vs. $1500 for cam done right. I understand not as much power. If I could find some one who lives in a non SMOG county in CA I would go with a bigger cam, Heads, and headers. For now would it be better to just save up for the STS?
