Question 2 part thread; please advise

My first question is concerning my long term plans for my car. I definitely want to have a turbo, and I'd like to do it with larger cubes.(less boost needed?) What I will want is a reliable/streetable 600+rwhp setup. I'm talking rare trips to the track, just 1 badass ride and some serious street ownage. I will have the work done at a good shop(speed inc?) so its done right. For the turbo I was thinking 10 psi max.(T76?)

This is what I was thinking, tell me which would be the best in your opinion.

1. 408, this would be a stroked iron block 6.0L right?
2. 402, stroked LS2.
3. 383, not have to buy a new block. Stroke the one I have now.

Stay M6 or go A4, (auto=more reliable w/ big power?)
What gears?

Without any additional research on your part, give me a ballpark of $$$ for what setup you choose. Engine/turbo/install price only.

2nd part of thread, since the previous wont be happening for awhile. If I dont just stick with what I have now (lid/catback) until I can do the stroker. I will want to get about 400rwhp daily driveable.

I know this is attainable fairly easily but I will want it to be a sleeper. From what I've gathered a lid, LT's, exhaust, and a cam can attain this number. UD pulley wont hurt. I saw that MTI's stealth 2 cam is 224/220. I dont know much about cams. Does the lower exhaust duration help it sound close to stock? I know LSA has alot to do with it. Has anyone ever seen something like a 227/222 on a 114/115?? I dont want to have to do heads and thought that might give a little more power. I know the TR224 is a good cam too.

I dont want to kill my mileage, I'd put a 12 bolt on with 3.73's. I'd like to run 3.90's, can we run those? I'd also be doing clutch/suspension.

Thanks for reading and any responses. I'm trying to lay out my plans ahead of time (just like everyone says to do) and appreciate any help/advice you offer.

Search is your friend here. You should be able to find the answers to your posted questions in a few clicks.

1) You are going to spend some big bux anyway you go with it. A 408 will brobably be ~$500 cheaper, at the cost of 75+ lbs added to the front of the car. Since you are planning to run a turbo, the output power will be up to how much boost you have. FWIW, you could probably save your self an *** load of money by building a forged 346 and upping the boost to achieve you power goals.

2) You can easily achieve your 400rwhp daily driver goals with a cam swap.

$15000 to $25000 depending on your whole setup.

A 402LS2 and 10lbs should hit 650-700rwhp easy enough.

Thanks guys, I was kinda leaning toward the 402 LS2. Hopefully I could get it all in and running for something south of 20K.

What would be a good stealth cam to reach that 400rwhp number? I know that the stealth 2 will get me close. Would a custom 227/222 be able to give me a little better power than the 224/220 of the stealth 2?
