Default help! windshield wiper trouble

While driving in a huge rainstorm a few days ago, with my wipers on high, they managed to catch each other, I was able to pull them apart, but now thier alignment is messed up, the drivers side rests too high and almost goes off the windshield, the passenger side goes up about an inch and comes back down, if anyone has ever dealt with something like this or just has any advice, please respond, thanks

Look at the base of the wiper arm, there is a plastic cover on each arm that pops off and under the cover is a nut. Take the nut off and pull the arm off. Generally you should need a small puller to do this, but I would bet at least one of yours has stripped splines and will probably just come right off. Not a good thing. Hopefully it's just the am thats stripped and will need to be replaced and not the shaft on the wiper motor. Has anyone taken the wiper arms off before on this car? Maybe they didn't tighten them down properly.
