Default check valves ... where are they located

I have a 98 LS1 and my air pump is making noise after I start up, but is running great. The dealer said that I could change the check valves, but may not change the whine noise that is present. Is it hard to change the check valves? Can someone point me to where they are located? A picture would be helpful. Thanks. Also, would an aftermarket exhaust have anything to do with the whine noise?

Default

the whine is your air pump not check valves.... mine was whinning also so i just pulled the fuse....

just remove your A.I.R injection and get some block off plates for your manifolds.....
if you have headers, its a good idea to remove it all.....

just look for the 2 small metal tubes going into each exhaust manifold... flow that tube and in the middle of it there will be a little buldge in it.... thats where the check valves
live.......
