Default What Cam?

What cam do you guys think I need. My car is a 02 z28 with a A4. These are the mods I have now. Whisper lid,Fast toys ram air, smooth bellos, 373 gears, K&N air filter, Hypertech III tuning, Pacesetter LT's with ory & no cats are comming next week and after that I'll be putting in a 2600 stall converter. My car is not a every day driver. I really Don't want to get crazy but I don't want some whippy cam either. I thought I would use something like the 918 valve springs that are good to .600 lift aren't they., and some ti retainers. So what kind of cam specs? Thanks guys.

Probably ought to do a little more research about cams first, and narrow down your question a little. I'm sure most the guys on here have answered this broad question more times than they wanted to.....

Although, I will say your stall looks really small, especially for a Ls1 car....Why'd you go so small on the converter, and then do 3.73's? Why not some mild gears, and a good 3500-4000stall?

I was told that the stock converter only stalled about 1600 rpms and the converter I was going to use would stall between 2600 and 2800 rpms. I think this would be a decent strip street converter. I have driven a car on the street with a 3600 to 3800 stall it was a terrible pain in the ***.

That's understandable. Different strokes for different folks i guess. What kind of E.T pickup did you get out of your stall?

for a smaller stall look at smaller cams

also what kinda soudn and what performance are you looking at...check the cam guide in JRP's sig...

i say up to 230/230 on a 114 for best results with sound and power, 112 LSA is a bit more rough while idling and not as comfy on the street...

get a TCI 3000 stall torque converter, at the very LEAST go 2800-3200 range!

thats just my thoughts however if you want a good daily go TR224, or get something with a lil different variation but near the same specs i think
