Default just my luck

well i finally got my TA running after the head and cam swap and it was just my luck that when i was driving home to tampa i broke the bolt holding the rocker down. anyone know the best way to get the rest of the bolt out and what i need to do to get a new one in there?...retap the hole or anything?

Get a small left handed flute, or reverse drill bit. About 3 or 4mm in size. Center punch the broken bolt and drill it carefully. Then use and easy out to remove the broken bolt. I did this exact process when I snapped a rocker bolt. The threads should be allright, unless they get damaged by the drill. Good luck

well all was goin well until the bolt extractor decided to break in half, part way down the hole in the bolt. now i cant reach the broken extractor...what the hell do i do now?????

You'll probably need to tack weld a nut to the broken stud, al long as it's not recessed. Otherwise a machine shop trip may be in order.

Just to satisify my curosity, how did the stud break to begin with? I read the post so i guess i understand. Why did it break would be a better question?
