Default Higher Compression cheap??

I have a set of 99 heads (853 castings) I sent to the local machine shop to get a new valves, valve job and ported..I wanted to know if there is any way to raise the compression without milling the heads. I have a pretty big cam and dont want any Piston to valve clearence issues. I have heard people talk about welding the chambers to lower the CC of them will this help..Any input will help..Thanx

If you are rebuilding it, get some new pistons so you want have to mill the heads.
