Default Heads and cam removal ???

Hey everyone Im new to this site, at least when it comes to posting. Just a couple of questions. I have a 01 SS camaro m6 17000 miles 18 in. chrome z06 wheels and has all the SLP options. I dont want to get beat by my buddys 03 cobra this spring and pretty much have decided which route to take. I ran a best of 13.27 @ 107.at Lapeer dragway. Car was stock except K&N filter and whisper lid. Street tires 295/35/18 3.42 gear. 60ft horrible but pulled strong once hooked up. Anyways my main question is how tough is pulling heads and cam off with motor still in car? Doesnt seem like much room to work. Any tricks to make it easier? On top of that how about notching pistons with motor in car? I posted a couple times today on other threads but my intentions are AFR 205s,cam 230s-240s, roller rockers, 12 bolt w/410s and other bolt ons. Any help would great. Thanks everyone.

this is a kick *** site and jmx is tha man u cant go wrong as long as u pay close attention to all steps....because a lot of the work is gonna be prepping your motor for the new heads. once u have the heads and front cover off, the cam part is easy...and u wont have to worry about lifters fallin since u r pullin the heads too. as far as prepping.....getting coolant out of head bolt holes, cleaning gasket surface, etc. its just a lot of tidious **** u dont wanna skimp on. as long as u follow this closely and know how to turn a wrench, there aint no reason u cant do it in a weekend. gettin a buddy to help would be VERY beneficial good luck and let us know how it goes

as stated just follow JMX's site and your good to go. you can do a search for "cam swap" or "head swap" and find tid bit information but JMX's walkthrough should get you through it. if you arent milling the 205's and depending on what cam your going with you shouldnt have to fly cut. afr's offer an additional .010-.015" in valve clearance over OEM castings as well.
