Default Comp 228 Cam

FYI the specs are 226/226 .581/.581 on a 114(I think)

I have a chance to get one at a GREAT deal(hopefully).

I have not seen much on the cc228 and wanted to use it in our 99 M6 SS with lid, pulley, LT's, 4:10, LS6(pretty much most of the bolt-ons)

Is anyone using it and what kind of track times/dyno numbers are you seeing. I was leaning towards the FM13 before this came up. It is a weekend sunny day only show/fun car.

Thanks

Chris

I have no experience with that cam, but I'd say to stick with the F13. Our cars like a split pattern cam, and that is one of the most popular cams, if not the most popular, around the board right now. It's making a lot of power, and their cams are VERY streetable. I have it on a 112LSA and it drives like stock. But if you are getting a really good deal on that other cam, it's your choice. The F13 will make more power though.

I am running a cam like that. 228/228 588 588 114. I dont see why it is a 226 when the name is comp 228. See my sig for Dyno numbers. I have not been to the track sence my motor was letting go.

the 228/228 should be a 228/228 cam.. comp can grind whatever you want though.

I had the comp 224/224 on my A4 and loved that... getting ready to slap a F11 or F13 in mine now. I hear so much good stuff about FMS's streetabilty with their cams

if the price is right on the comp 228 then im sure that will affect your decision also. But the F13 is top notch form what i hear

Comp makes both a 226 and a 228 . Very little difference between them . I have the 228 and it is a great cam , but I have yet to dyno . Even in a 112 there isn't much overlap and with a good tune all of them will give good street manners , chunky idle , and atleast 380-390 or more to the wheels in a m6 with the corresponding bolt ons .

See my sig. I really like the cam. With a full catback I am sure it would have been really close to 400rwhp. The FM13 seems to be the favorite now. If I could do everything over I would probably get it, but I am not lacking much behind with the 228R and will be keeping it.

Mine put down 422 when it was an auto. But not sure what it does with the T56 in it now. It drives great with no problems and that is on my tune. It also runs decent at the track too. My times are in the sign with the T56. Good luck.
