Re: a tapping sound coming from.... LOL! I found it. It was the drive plate bolt had backed out and was tapping the plastic gaurs for the starter. Guess after we changed the torque converter we didn't tighten them quite enough.

a tapping sound coming from.... I have a tapping sound coming from beneath the engine. Any guesses as to what it is? The sound is most audible around the area of the oil pan. It varies with engine speed.
