"862" cast in head..is this 5.3 or 4.8??

so they are the same exact head?? just want to make sure ..it is for a friend and I have these that came is a core at work...he wants the 5.3 heads. Thanks!

Might save you some money if someone thinks the 4.8L heads are not worth anything...

well he asked if the 862 was for a 4.8L or 5.3L. on the 862 heads i have, you flip them over and you'll see 4.8L cast into the head under an intake runner. but yes, it's for both motors.

The cylinder head for both engines is aluminum with a casting number of 862, however on the deck face area in a small cavity there is a 4.8 cast onto the cylinder head. Do not be confused by this cast number for the cylinder head is for both 4.8L and 5.3L engines.

anyways, my 862 heads were ported through www.vincihighperformance.com and 2.02/1.60 ferrea valves were put in.
here's the flow sheet.

Long story short, the 862 casting is great once you work them over a bit.
