Is there such a thing as a bad bore/stroke combination?

Is there such a thing as a bad bore/stroke combination?
Just a silly question since i'm in the middle of planning a buildup. Was looking at a slightly over bore stock ls1 block, with offset ground crank to 3.74, so i think engine would be a 357. otherwise, throw that same crank into a 6.0L iron block that has been .030 over, and it's a 382. not an all bore, and not a true stroker like lunati. thanks for any help.

I dont know if there is such a thing as a bad bore/stroke combination.
Here are a few things I have picked up reading the boards:
-Big bore Motors need good flowing heads (this is why there are such good results with "all bore" ls-1s)
-Longer stroke engines put more stress (avg. speed) on the rods/rod bolts and generally cannot be spun as high.
So I would say in the case of the LS-X engine go with more bore than stroke. I think you could get some great numbers out of big bore LS-6 headed engines these days with all of the great new head-work and nice big camshafts.
I am sure someone who knows more will chime in.
