Default Plug Gap and Pinging?

Can the adjustment on the plug gap affect pinging? For example, bigger gap = more pinging etc..... Any thgouths, has anyone played with it? Also does shooting carb cleaner down the intake and TB clean out any of the carbon or is it just a waste of spray? Inquiring minds want to know!

I dont beleive pinging can be associated with plug gap. Pinging is caused by pre-detination which is usually caused by poor fuel, improper timing, or carbon buildup.

Carb cleaner can do a little bit of help for the intake track, and the TB.. but it wont do too much for the combution chambers themselves. Best way to clean that out is with top engine cleaner. I used to take all the plugs out, and use a funnel to pour it into each cylinder, then into the TB, and crank it over a few times... then let it sit overnight and start it up. It'll smoke up the streets... Be sure to change the oil immediately afterwards...
