Same here. After I did my cam install. It's more of a whine than a whistle. Kicks in at about 1800 and increases with RPM until the exhaust drowns it out. I pulled all my belts and it was still there. It's not that loud and I'm getting used to it but I'd rather not have it. I thought I was all alone.

Mine is an FM11. I'll probably give them a call next week. Didn't have time this week.

I higly doubt its cam related. My car does it oo, it dosent bother me, I have a ram air hood and when your close to the opeings you car really hear it, so im guessing its the motor sucking a lot of air or something in that area. My car still performs like a champ so im not complaining.

I have this same whistle and i'm on the stock cam. I also dont think it has anything to do with the cam swap. Mine started to whistle after i put the FTRA and underdrive pully on. Other than that thats all the mods i have so its caused by one of those two mods. No its not the belts because you can still hear it without the belts.

It has to be something about the way it pulls air past the runners in the intake guys. I've pulled mine down a bunch of time swithching TB's, checking for vacuum leaks, and making sure all my ducks were in a row. It sounds like it is in the back of the TB-front of intake and it carries through the intake. Oh well, Ol' whistler runs like a BASTARD!

Did you get the 90mm set up on there yet? Did that eliminate the noise? It's really getting on my nerves now, and I'm tired of the "where's the supercharger" jokes.

Strangely enough, mine did it after installing a FMS cam also. I had a G5X2 cam in there for a year and it never whistled. I'm not worried about it though.

How does your oil pressure look? Also make sure your pulleys are aligned correctly. Mayb maybe the valve cover gasket(assuming ypu reused it) i would check anything that encounters high pressure.

Thats a gasket then. When it heats up the metal expands which in turns fills that clearance or "gap"

I had a similar problem a couple of years ago after installing a cam and magnacharger. I removed the drive belt and the noise was still there.

After further inspection I found that the PCV system was not working correctly and the vacuum in the crank case was sucking air through the balancer/timing cover seal and distorting the seal lip which was causing the noise.

Once I fixed the PCV system the noise went away.

So what exactly was it? I understand what you're saying, but were there any parts in the pcv system in particular that you changed?

Mine is doing this now since I put in my cam a few months back. I think it is just intake noise. I put new seals on my intake and it persisted. More than likely it is the little hole in the throttle body as air rushes through it.

Check your PCV systems. something isn't right.

now mind you this was on a 3800v6 but the concept still applies. guy replaced his intake gaskets and forgot to put an o-ring seal back in with the pcv valve (figured that out after alot of checking and looking at things). car started making a belt-type squealing noise. took belt off and it was still there. narrowed it down to between the trans and engine. he took the trans out to check the flexplate and all was good. turned out that the pcv valve o-ring not being in was causing air to be sucked through the rear main seal causing this whistle belt noise.
