ticking from oil pan?

Default ticking from oil pan?

i am getting a very loud ticking noise coming from what seems like the oil pan area. any ideas?

Not to be an alarmist but the only time I have heard that sound from the oil pan area it was a rod knock.

Are you sure it is not a exhaust leak??

sounds like a bottom end problem...or something fell into your oil pan

My guess would be somehting bottom end. Ill pray for you that it isnt though! I just went through a simliar situation. 4 days after I got the LS1 in I started to get a bad knocking. Something(the TR-6 that went when I blew the old motor got caught in the heads or the guys doing my heads) got stuck on top of one of my pistons and scared 2 of them up and caused them to hit the heads. First thing you can do to check for the worst possible thing is the oild pan for metal shavings. Good Luck!
