Upgrading from stock cam.. Good choice?

the chain stretches over time. and this changes the valve events of the cam in relation to the crank. basically it's like retarding the cam. so, you start to lose low end response and maybe gain some upper rpm power. a chain that's 100k old, i wouldn't be surprised of there isn't a 10* retard because of the stretch. you can measure this by turning the motor clockwise until the chain it tight on one side. then turn counterclockwise and measure in degrees, the distance moved before the chain retightens on the opposite side.
all cam manufacturers will tell you to degree the cam in. also, this chain stretch plays a role in piston to valve clearances. why risk an entire motor for $35.00. you are already there when you pull the cam out. that's all we are saying.

Built 4 500+ HP cars in the last year. All stock chain. Two of those drive the car like it was on fire. We also have a 600+ car with the stock chain on it no problems with the chain. Watch now I've jinxed them all...
