Differences in GM Headbolts between years... I have a 2000 vette. I pulled the heads and bought new GM headbolts from Fred Beans and they are the same length as the old bolts BUT there is about 2-3 inches LESS thread on the new bolt. The "old" bolts had thread much further up toward the bolt head.
Why ?
