Default Oil Pressure Problem

Ok guys, figure this one out.

I was driving the formie today and I noticed something was up with the oil pressure. The gauge would read fine normal driving and at an idle (40 psi) Under little throttle it would raise to around 60psi or so. Nothing suspecious there. Well under about half throttle it would jump down to 40psi then up to 60psi. I thought this was a little weird. So I take it a little more than half (not quite WOT) and is jumps down to under 20 psi and stays there untill I let off it. I never got it abouve about 4500 RPM. I was to scared to take it full WOT. It is doing this consistantly. If I put it in neutral and rev it up it acts normal going from 40 psi to 60 psi in the higher RPM's.

I am guessing I either have something stuck in the pick up tube or my sending unit is going bad. Any suggestions?

Funny you say that because this is a new motor as well. About 5,000 miles on it. And it is about time for an oil change. I wonder what would cause this??

I am thinking that as the oil wears out , it thins out , which causes this problem . Just a theory ...

Also, check the oil level... I think that happens when the level is low.
