Default Questions about comp 978's

What is involved in machining the heads to accept these springs? What should I tell the machine shop, do they just need to clear and seat good or does the head hav e to be machined down some to get the right height and pressure? Also will the rockers have to be milled some to clear the titanium retainers?

The machine shop only needs to cut the new diameter. THey shouldnt have to remove any depth in the spring seat. If they do, you will need to shim the springs back to proper installed height. TEA had them set up at 1.800" installed height...

You might have to grind the rockers a little to clear. I dont know as I never actually ran these springs at all, jut took them off the heads I bought...

Why go through all this trouble when there's plenty of stock diameter drop in dual springs out there at very affordable prices? [PRC's (from TSP), Patriot Gold, etc...]
