5.3 or 6.0 heads

5.3 or 6.0 heads I got 2 sets of heads, the casting number on 1 set is 317 and the code on the right rear of the engine was 12551364, does anyone know what that is? It was on a 200-02 chevy 2500 series truck but I dont know what the year was. The other set is either 4.8 or 5.3 heads but I didnt write down the casting number. I think it was 287. Anyway if someone knows what these are and which would be better on my 01 Z28, thanks

Re: 5.3 or 6.0 heads Just so happens, I was reading the May issue of the GM Hightech Performance magazine and they have a segment on the LS based cylinder heads. The 317 code on the heads you're referring to is from the 2001+ LQ4 6.0L truck. As far as the other number, it looks like a part number but not the part number for that head. Hope this helps.
