Will the AFR heads need modifications to run a solid setup? Not valves/springs, but the heads themselves if you were to get a bare set of heads.

I'm almost positive they will need clearancing for pushrods and Shaft Mounts. However I heard they will be building a solid roller prepped set of heads in the near future. :shameless plug for All Pro: All Pro's are already machined for both

I've hit on this in a few other threads but just to reiterate, anytime you run an aftermarket heavier rocker set-up, you must opt for our 8019 spring upgrade. It handles the heavier valve gear much better at RPM due to the additional seat pressure and spring rate. Also, at that point in time an aftermarket lifter (Comp, Crane, Morrel) is not a bad idea either.

are the 8019's still ~1.290" O.D springs? whats seat pressure and spring rate compared to the PP's.

mine check in at

PP Golds (independent)

seat: 143 lbs @ 1.800
open: 363 @ 1.200
coil bind: 1.060
Clearance: .140
spring rate: 367

i'll be interested to see my high rpm power, im running the above springs, comp 850 lifters, and jesel rockers.

as far as the graph, TQ is nice, a bit low to me, but broad for what it is.

Damn..and we thought these Crane Quick Lift rockers were the **** and they weigh half as much as my Comp Pro Magnum..just thought we'd try something new...live and learn.

Stock rockers arent going back on....he's not going to take a chance...they are junk anyhow in my opinion...sounds like he should have had the spring upgrade I guess.

He might take you up on the Kooks offer though.

Wow, you're making really nice numbers with that setup. I'm about to bolt up my AFR 205's today. Running a T1 (.558/221) cam, so I was hoping to get 415-420ish, we'll see.

I would just shim the valve springs that are in there to give more spring pressure
