Default ls1 knocking?

I have an 02 ss camaro. I do not drive the car much it only has 1,100 miles on it. It is not beaten or drag raced at all. When I start it after about 1-2 minutes it starts to knock. It sounds like a rod bearing. As it warms up it seems to go away, but never totally. When underneath the car it is really loud sounds like a rod is going to come out through the oil pan. I cant imagine it is a rod bearing. Does any know what this could be?

Thanks

Sounds like the infamous LS1 piston slap. If it's really a rod bearing, it will be louder under load.

No it doesnt seem to get louder under load. Piston slap? Isnt that basically when the piston is the wrong size for the cylinder bore, or when the piston and cylinders are different materials and expand at different rates to produce slop and knocking?

1100 miles... Wow!!! I wished my only had 1100 miles but I drive mine everyday. I would take it to the dealer and have them check it out if it is still under warranty which it should be. Are you setting any codes?

How long has it been doing this?
1100 miles? I thought I had low mileage (just turned over 10k)- but I probably put on a thousand miles just driving home from the dealer.

If it doesn't go away after it's warmed up, go to the GM dealer assuming it's under warranty. Do not take "oh that's normal" for an answer no matter what they say. Make them fix it with either a new engine or pistons.
