Default Piston only comes out .002... help with Compession

Like the title says, What can I do to get more compression? How thin can I go on the head gaskets? how much can I mill the heads?

Cam is a little big 242/242 608/613 on a 110

The pistons have valve releifs in them(not sure how big)

5.7 heads with 30 thou off already.

It had stock head gaskets on it.

Thanks for any help

My pistons are .010 ot and I used .040 Cometics. That gave me .030 quench which I like.Cometic makes .027,.030 and up thicknesses depending on your application,I don't know the sealing properties of the thinner gaskets but without PTV issues I would go .027 or .030 if it was my motor.Maybe others can chime in and offer more.Good luck.
Anthony

Edit:I meant to say I would use a .030 or .036,.027 would be cutting it close for me but matbe not for others.

Wayne I dont want to run to the edge of quench like I would on a NA motor. Limit there seems to be about .025-.028 with contact at 7000 rpm Forged piston Id have to assume will expand slightly less being denser so going off .025 to clear up to 7K. shoot for target quench of .030-.033 Allow for a couple hundred more rpm end up with a .032" or so. Looks like a .035" gasket would be the ticket.

Yeah, the gaskets that came off were the .054 compressed MLS gaskets, in the oil filled combustion chambers. Not good at all for the bottle and pump gas heavy car combo. At least this way its like your milling the heads .020" so you'd get a little more compression in that there motor if you stick with that chamber head.

i wouldnt mill the heas at all or put any more money into them. Money in to find out what you have maybe, but I wouldnt cut them more, everyone shops for a .030 milled head
