so the 2001 uses an ls6 intake and has a better cam? i'm looking at two drivetrains for my project an 2000 and a 2001 which are the same price and close to same mileage so i'm trying to figure out if there is a difference to choose one over the other as the 2001 doesn't have a computer and the harness is a little cut up but i'll need to change the harness to adapt to my car anyhow.

the rod bolts are different. 01-02's have the stronger rod bolts.

Get the 2001, find a VCM and have a dealer or someone reflash it as a 2001.
