Default can this really be done??

this is what i read.

THE LS1/LS6 ENGINE IS DESIGNED IN SUCH A WAY THAT IT IS POSSIBLE T0 SWAP CAMS WITHOUT REMOVING THE INTAKE MANIFOLD OR CYLINDER HEADS.SIMPLY ROTATE THE STOCK CAM A COUPLE OF TIMES TO "PLANT" THE LIFTERS IN THE LIFTER GUIDES. THE GUIDES WILL HOLD THE LIFTERS SECURELY ENOUGH TO ALLOW THE OLD CAM TO BE SLIPPED OUT AND THE NEW ONE SLIPPED IN...
IS THIS TRUE GUYS??
CAN THIS BE DONE ON A 2000 Z28 M6.. THANKS

Like Paul said but you still run the chance of dropping a lifter. Thats why some people like the added security by inserting magnet pins in the pushrod holes to hold the lifters up.
