Default Does anyone make a "single" adjustable timing chain?

I'm looking for a timing chain that has adjustability but I don't need a double roller type. Are there any single adjustable chains aout there that have a +6, -6 to it? Tanks!

Cloyes makes one, though I think its only +4, -4 degrees variable IIRC.

Is that the hex-a-just one or the standard one. I have one on my car, but for the life of me I can't remember the name of it. If its this one, it's pretty spendy.

Comp also makes one, -4 to +4. $180

Wonder if that is a price mistake at sdpc? That's very spendy...

comp one is -6 to +6, not that you should be using those last 2 degrees advanced or retarded

Isn't the comp a double roller? At least that's what it says in the catalogue. I just need 2 degrees advanced. I want to install my MS3 with 2 degress advanced to bring the power band down a bit. This is on a C5 and i have heard the double rollers interfere with the underdrive crank pullies.

Yeah, your right! Unfortunatly, I got the info off Tbyrne web site and it say's 4 degrees. Comp say's 6 degrees on the cam timing and 8 degrees on the crank gear http://www.compcams.com/information/...ess/TIMING.PDF

As far as double rollers go, the older UD pulleys had to be machined for alot of people to fit with the double chains. The newer ones are supposed to be fine. The problem is getting the pick up tube to fit correctly to the oil pump since it's shimmed out. Most people just get it started then crank the bolts down to force it to bend, I don't like that myself. I would rather just pull the pan and bend it to fit, but thats alot work. Singles should be plenty strong enough for what most people need. I just run (for now) the Jwis chain ($140) on my stock sprockets..

The best price I got on the Cloyes Gears with JWISS chain is $300. Yes spendy, but may well be worth it.

I was wondering about those 2degree buttons myself-has anyone tried it on a LS1?

I like the Comp Hex-Adjust version (Yes...it is a "single")

It is infinately adjustable (you can move it a 1/4 of a degree if you felt the need), and your not having to pull the crank gear on and off to change the advance/retard amount.

Seems to be working fine on my combination....
