Umm you try that and tell us how that works. I'm not to sure of pressing anything between my piston and nice soft heads.

That should be fine as long as you have the piston going up on the compression stroke so both valves are closed. You wouldn't want it going up on the exhaust stroke with the exhaust valve open; might end up with a bent exhaust valve.

I use the LS1 specific Kent-Moore tool that bolts in place of the starter and positively locks the flyhweel. It's so much easier than sticking a screwdriver or whatever into the flywheel.

ps:: I install a new seal any time I remove a pulley($10.00 and 10 minutes now is better than haveing a leak and haveing to remve pulley again

may make a tool to hold flywheel
hope the drawing of tool is understandable
use a 1/8 x 2 flat bar about 12 in long insert into flywheel threw the round hole in botton of bellhouseing ,the notch in side will hold tool in place
PS: THE DRAWING DOES NOT SHOW UP CORRECT ,it should be about 2 in wide all the way down

I bought this with the puller. I must say it's a nice piece for the $ and should work out nicely. I have yet to try it out (still waiting on my ASP pulley) but it should get the job done nicely.

I honestly don't know, I would think the bolt pattern would be the same as the asp pulley. I need someone to measure the bolt pattern with some calipers on the SLP.

I bought one of these from you but it will not work on the SLP pulley. The hole pattern is different. It looks like there is not enough metal to drill the pattern. I knew I should of gotten an ASP pulley.

I can't find the Kent Moore / Snap-On tool for the life of me.

I ended up using a 10" long, 2" wide by 1/8" thick plate of steel, wedged up the access port in the bellhousing. I didn't think it would but it actually holds very securely.

I use the rope trick in my two stroke engines quite often. No harm at all.

Sorry about that Bill, I'll make it right. I didn't know about the SLP's. I'll make you another to fit it or your money back. PM me & let me know what I can do.

I got one, looks like it will work pretty good. DrkPhx told me about it, he can probably tell you more than me. I'll be using it soon though.
