It seems like every time I start the car when the engine isn't completely hot, I get a fair amount of smoke out the exhaust, but then it stops. I had the suggestion it may be my valve seals. I bought new seals when the engine was apart last Easter. Somehow one got lost and we re-used one of the old ones.

Would there be an easy way to test the seals?
