Default Trex Cam Installed

Well I finally Got it installed this weekend. Actually did not go to bad. I am pretty impressed with how easy it was. Just time consuming. Ohh this thing sounds "BADASS". Can noy wait untill I can get on this bad boy.

What should I rev to. I have a 98 and know that I have weaker rod bolts. I know that there is no such thing as safe so what is advised.

Hope you enjoy the new cam. You need to get a graph posted up. Most people spin the T-Rex to around 7000 give or take a bit.

You've got the beefy springs, so I'd say you should be good up through at least 7000.

I hope you have at least an LS6 intake with that cam... you need it to spin it to the rpms it likes to live at. With T-REX, I'd say shifting around 7k rpms would be the norm... maybe even a little higher to take advantage of the powerband.

FWIW, my cam peaks around 6250 rpms so I shift around 6700-6800, and it is significantly smaller than T-REX...

With that cam, a ton... the LS1 intake really chokes off over 6000 rpms, and your new cam probably won't peak until 6800 or so, maybe even higher. That means it'll be starving for air long before it peaks, and long before you would shift for optimum performance. I'd get a 90mm LSX intake if you can afford it, or at least a 78mm LSX or stock LS6... I'd do that ASAP.
