Default Where should I REALLY shift at?

I did a search and saw a couple of different things. I have the LS6 cam and springs in my 5.3L

The engine is pulling quite hard at 5K plus, and is still pulling hard when its cut off at 6K for the shift.

Taking into consideration that I have the 5.3, my other mods, and the LS6 (the earlier, smaller version) cam, where is peak power at?

Without going to crazy (read as: not spinning a bearing, throwing a rod, etc), where should I put my shiftpoint?

You will probably need to have your rev limiter set a bit higher. I would shift right around 6100-6200 with that setup, but you need to post a dyno graph before anyone can give you a more definite answer. Don't worry about breaking the bottom at those RPM's, people really dont' see problems until after 6800.

Even with the 5.3L.... not the LS1? I know the crank is suppose to be the same, but what about rods and pistons?

Yeah, I need to get to the dyno, but the nearest one is like an hour away and I wanted to try and get a couple of things squared away before I went.

It is an okay cam for 50 bucks....

I am thinking about going with an LS1 or 6L when I get back from basic.... I'm thinking of a 220ish duration 112-114 LSA type cam for that.
