My car has the stock shortblock and im wanting to do a good head and cam swap. But my only fear is my car has too many miles. The car has about 80k on it right now, is that too many miles to risk running it up to 6500 or so? I also had some thoughts about cam swap and supercharging. What do you guys think?

 

You'll hear of success stories where someone with over 100k did a heads/cam swap and everything went great. You could be another story like that, but if you have reservations then you may want to freshen the bottom end with new bearings and such.

 

I turn my heads/cam 102k mile motor to 6800 all the time.
