LS1 2.02" or 2.05"

I also need to know (I posted in another post) how much you can machine a stock 5.3 valve seat?

I'd like to go with 2.05" intakes. If I need to I'll replace the seats, but if I can machine the stock seats to 2.02" maybe I'll settle for that???

I have seen lot of ls1 heads with 1.600 and 2.02 valves in them with stock seats but if i were to do it i would put a larger seat in.As far as valves i like ferrea.

. We use Ferrea valves (around 120.00 for intake valves) the stock exhaust valve will flow very well so I would not change it. 2.04 is as large as I would prefer to go on a stock seat but Ferrea does not make one. 2.055 requires a larger seat. As far as using a 1.6 valve on a stock seat It may last for a little while but who wants to take that chance? The stock seat is smaller than 1.6" so if the valve job is in the right place on the valve it is seating on aluminum.

1.55 and 2.02 is your best bet with out having to replace the seats.

So 1.55 exhaust valves will work fine with the stock seat? How will this affect a mildly ported head?

Thanks
