what is the most you can bore an LS1 block?
and what is the biggest stroke you can go?

You can bore it up to .010

Max Stroke 4.125

i was thinking of building up a late model 455 for a friends TA, just wondering if it would be possible...

yes its possible, not ideal though. MTI did it with a 4.155 x 4.250 combo. with the new darton 4.200 sleeves you can go 4.200 x 4.125 and get 457.

Default Max. stroke length

There really isn't enough deck height on these blocks to run a 4.25" stroke. The ring pack gets really tight, wrist pin is well into the oil ring and the piston skirt is unexceptably short. This results in a short lived engine.

I don't like to go over 4" stroke. Much longer and you will be taking the engine apart every 15 - 20K miles for a rebuild.

When are those going to be ready? I like the idea of a 406 CID stroker( 4.2 x 3.662 ).
