I have an '02 SS and was wondering how you can tell if you have a LS6 block? anyone?....anyone?....Bueler? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

 

look at the back of the left hand deck on the driver's side of the car (with a flash light and mirror) above the transmission flange. on it will be the number 12561168, if u have this that means u have an ls6 block <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

or u can tell by the finish of the block, the ls6 is duller

 

so what your saying is that some f-bodies came with LS6 blocks? this is new to me. can anyone else verify this. i have a 02Z.

like 10 or 15 percent of the 01's have ls6 blocks and 25 percent of the 02's have ls6 blocks in them
