Default Cam confusion, 6.0 with ls1 hot cam??

Engine:
2003 lq9, ls6 intake, 2001 camaro tb, crap for headers (unless someone wants to sell me some used mac midlengths), dual 2.5 exhaust with x pipe.

restraints:
The car is stick shift, id like very strong mid range power (high rpms scare me). I still have the stock rear gears in the car 3.07 (1986 corvette) so I dont want to give up too much low end either. The car Is gonna be a daily driven street car, maybe see a race from light to light everyonce in a while. See the track a few times a year maybe. Id like to be able to pull 12s. Sideways in first and second is where the fun is though, I want a slingshot =P. Ohh and the car weighs 3300 max, probably less. I would like to avoid tunning as much as possible. I have no idea what the rates for that are in miami florida and who does it.

The question:

Which cam do you think can provide all these things? Can I get 12s with those mods and just a cam? I was looking at the ls1 hot cam kit. For 410$ (on sale at gmpartsdirect) it seems like a sweet deal. Any comment are welcome, I really dont know what to expect.

Ohh and rough idles are cool.

Thanks,

Chris

Do a search for the hotcam. There are a lot of guys for it and a lot against since there are so many better cams out there. Why not find a local shop and get a custom grind or check your PM's.

I was also thinking about the comp XR269HR cam and either ls6, 915, or 918 springs. Would the 918 spring be overkill for this little cam?

The XR269HR is: 216/220 .525/.532 114

Or maybe the XR265HR high lift: 212/218 .558/.563 115

any comments?

Thanks, chris

how about a TR220/112? altho the 112 cams and rough idles will require a good tune... the 115 cam u listed will be very smooth, especially in the bigger motor u have...
