NEED HELP!! LS1 vs. LS6 questions
I am looking into building an LS1, but will an LS6 be better? I will be doing a head and cam swap to get 500+ fwhp. If I got the LS6, would I be wasting money since I will be changing the heads and cam anyway? I will also be looking for short blocks, but which one? The lower internals are the same between the two, right? Are the motor mounts the same between the two? Anyone know of a good short block for sale?

The LS1 and LS6 are real similar. The LS6 heads/cam and intake are better. If you're getting a new cam and heads, then consider piecing the motor together instead of purchasing a crate motor. Maybe do a short block + everything else. Or maybe get all of the parts you want to build the motor you want.

yea just try to find a forged ls1 shorblock, if to much then look for a used sb and take it front there, you gona change the top end anyways to get the power you want, no sense in getting a whole engine
