German Castroil, RED US/German label not the same!
In response they said "the performance of this oil isn't compromised, possibly a differnt additive package was used"
me - "really no ****?"
Guess i'm back to M1 0W40, atleast they have some consistancy. Or Royal Purple Racing 41.

AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-40 European Engine Oil surpasses the most demanding European oil specifications. It is recommended for European gasoline and diesel vehicles, including but not limited to, Saab, Audi, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Land Rover, Opel, Mini Cooper, BMW, Peugeot and Porsche
Possibly castrol dropped the more expensive green GC cause of how the dollar is trading. Less profit margin at $5 a quart cause its an imported oil. Why don't they just market the oil for what it really is for more money instead of disquising the oil in a 0W30 container.
Call it Syntec Racing oil or something and sell it for $6.50 a quart, atleast your guarenteed whats in the container instead of resorting to the reading sku number etc. I dislike how castrol plays these "whats behind door #2?" games.
If I have to pay $10 a quart to get Royal Purple or buy M1 0W40 atleast I know whats in the oil container.
So I was panicking for nothing, it appears Castrol isn't trying to trick us here, but are simply now using the newest version of 0w30 sold by Castrol in Europe. The old green version hasn't been sold over there for a little while now so it was only a matter of time before we ended up getting their newest version over here instead. So once your local store runs out of the green GC, don't be afraid to try the new gold colored stuff.
