Engine knock/clatter noise!?!?

Engine knock/clatter noise!?!? HELP. I don't know what to think about a noise that has developed in my 1999 Camaro Z28. There is a knock noise that comes from the engine when it is first started cold in the morning that lasts about 30sec. Then it goes away for the most part. There is still a little noise that comes from the engine around 1800-2400rpm. It doesn't really sound like a rod, BUT I'm not the most firmiliar with the Chevrolet, having worked for FORD (I know, I suck) for about 8 years. I would like any help or suggestions that anyone could give! 
The vehicle has a 4.10 rear end, programer to compensate for the speedo being off, k/n air filter, and cat back exhaust. Other than those little things the vehicle is stock! Thanks for ANY helpQQQ
