Default How To Spend $8000?

I was thinking of:

AFR 205's w/ milled 0.025 w/ cosmetics and running the 224/228
Pushrods/timing chain/ported oil pump
Port Matched Fast 90 Intake/Nick Williams TB
TSP 85 mm lid w/ SLP 85 mm Maf
Pace Setter LT's w/ TSP ORY Pipe
TCI 3500 TC
3:73 Gears w/ Girdle

Spending the rest on suspension (ground control/bilsteins or whatever Sam Strano recommends along w/ other suspension goodies (the car needs lowered a bit))

The car will never see the strip really, it is not a daily driver (never sees snow/sleet/rain), gets about 3000 miles a year on it. Most driven one way is 30 miles at a time. Gas mileage is not a concern. It only receives 93 octane. I want a car that is fun as hell as drive. I can also do the install of everything myself between me and my friends. I have HP Tuners/access to a great tuner/a local dyno, so I am set there. I am open to forced induction/pulling the engine and selling it (the motor has only 30,000 miles on it w/ the mods about 7,000), and going w/ a iron block or LS2. No nitrous though--just not a fan of it. I could spend a little bit more possibly also. Let me know what you think.

AFRs and cam are good
I don't think I'd do the intake MAF, etc., just not worth the money and hassle. A ported TB and the stock MAF with LS6 intake are plenty good.
Go with Kooks or QTP headers - no reason to do anything else if you have the cash.
Other than that, you will have a killer setup for your recreational driver!

Maybe for a stock cubed motor (even then it's beneficial), but if he goes 402 like he mentioned you need the 85mm MAF, 90/90 FAST intake/TB to realize the potential for a stroker. Otherwise you're leaving power on the table.

The answer to your question is very subjective: everyone has a different set of priorities. For example, a lot of people in your situation would stay with the stock longblock, except add a cam, intake, TB, 150 wet shot, headers, lid, exhaust, 12 bolt, torque arm, shocks, LCA, panhard, MT Drag Radials and reevaluate after you see what all of this gets you.

Very carefully, make a plan and stick with it. Do not change your plan after you start buying- it always cost you more money in the end.

I'm really not interested in drag times or being the fastest car around, thus the hold off on the 12 bolt. If I want to drag it, I will buy one down the line no problem.

H/C setups aren't my cup of tea anymore. After driving on a TSP 231/237 everyday for 2 months, I'm convinced that my next LS1 will be forced induction. H/C are so picky, some people get great results, others get crap results. You can't really predict it.

I'd get some sort of FI kit w/ your money. What's more fun than sick power, smooth idle, and a BOV?

You want fun as hell to drive, you want buttloads of power! I have to agree with most of the above, a turbo(s) would be fun.

why didn't you like the heads/cam Jabari...the fact that it cuts off every now and then and idles very poorly haha...i can't wait for another week so i can go see revxtreme for the tune...i don't think i would trade the sound of a cam for a bov...just my opinion....

I think I could do the h/c/suspension/tranny for 8, but the turbo and stock internals and some suspension would be close. I think I might have to upgrade my bank account

ATI D-1 w/supporting fuel system
cheap 6.0 heads
TCI 3500

With your "little" cam you should see some good numbers (better than the H/C combo you spoke of), and the thing about it is with a H/C setup your power will be limited. But with FI you can always upgrade later for more power (pulley, forged internals, etc.) . Since you are not into drag racing, your 10 bolt should be fine on the street for a very long time with a auto.

Plus, it is just fun to be blown.

Your car is lowered right? I would be careful with that kit on a lowered car because the downpipe runs under the k-member. I would buy the kit myself if it didnt have that feature. Anyway, good luck to you. That car will be badass with another 8k inversted. Wish I had that kind of dough. Take Care.

Thanks--not lowered--thinking about doing an adjustable setup. Might just do 400+ cubes...
